Sitting in the ring around the rosy circle on the alphabet carpet in the middle of the kindergarten classroom, a loud alarm bell rings. The kids that occupy the class only know that the bell means danger. The teachers and other staff members perfecting the structured monthly emergency drills. All 300 plus students rally around the eight designated spaces with confusing looks on their faces as the teachers rush them back to class. However the adults knew there was not an immediate danger and that everyone would be safe. The children trusted their teachers to lead them to safety, just as we teach them to trust them.
A few months pass and a fire breaks out in the lunchroom. This is the first fire in fifty years. There aren’t any of the original staff from that fire left. Panic strikes and there is no structure as the teachers and other adults lose themselves in panic. This results in the loss of lives of both children and adults. programmed to panic during a crisis. Some are better at handling it than others being the reason some got out alive.
Always passing the drill with flying colors just indicates we can follow directions when we are not in crisis. Just as the united states did when they passed the pandemic emergency plan just weeks before the pandemic. No one really knows how things are going to follow through until it unfolds in front of our faces.
Major Lack of Trust Causing Problems
To conclude I couldn’t imagine I or anyone else would know how or do a better job. I stead of all the fighting and hate for just a moment if all the brains blaming each other would put themselves in the thinking chair and just think think think. We have some clue of an idea of how to end this pandemic and find some normalcy. Yes, the reference reflects the age congress reflects. How are the Republicans and Democrats not embarrassed by their behavior. They’ve lost sight of their job descriptions and how they received the job titles in the first place.
The American people vote congress in and congress forgets the American people. The American People should be able to place food on their kitchen tables with their self-respect and dignity intact. To put it another way is having to decide between having dinner as a family in the home they share or having the car they need to search for a job that just doesn’t exist right now. Having toothpaste to brush their teeth or soap any soap for clean clothes, dishes, and bodies. It’s choosing to pay the water bill or electricity. It’s not the 80’s any more a time when you could send the water bill to the phone company and pass it off as an honest mistake.
This is 2020 and we no longer live in a country that is indivisible. We live in a country that is more divided than ever. We no longer know how to stand together then again there isn’t anyone hear teaching us.
